Pokemon-Themed Nintendo 2DS Coming to Japan

Nintendo is partying like it's 1996: The gaming giant is now accepting pre-orders for four Pokémon-themed 2DS portable gaming consoles.

As noted by Polgyon, the gadgets will only be available in Japan, and they will exist pre-installed with a version of Pokémon Scarlet, Blueish, Green, or Yellow/Pikachu to match the console color. The new models commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first Pokémon release and hitting shelves on Feb. 27 for 9.980 Yen ($83)—the same day Nintendo plans to re-release versions of the original Game Male child Pokémon titles for the 3DS Virtual Console.

Pokemon 2DS
